Bathroom Sink Faucet Leaking

Bathroom sink faucet leaking. This will expose the o ring which will be thinner and seat washer which will be thicker. Use a small slotted screwdriver or utility knife to pry off the decorative cap on the handle exposing the attachment screws. But if you frequently see puddling water on the sink deck around the faucets you may have a leak in this area.

Decide which side of your faucet is dripping closing the water supply valves one at the same time. A leak around the base of the faucet where the faucet body meets the sink is not quite as obvious since users are constantly splashing water around the sink deck and base of the faucet. If there aren t individual shutoff valves under the sink shut off the water supply for the house.
Fix a leaky faucet shut off the water twist the valve under your sink to turn off the water supply valve or valves. Pull out the stem. If the leak does not stop once the first valve is switched off is another line that is leaking.
After determining which side is leaking switch off both the supply valves. Turn on the faucet and leave open allowing the remaining water in the line to empty into the sink. Use a screwdriver to remove the handle screw then pull off the handle.
Once you determine which side is leaking turn off both supply valves. Take the old one to the hardware store and use it to find a replacement. Determine which side of your faucet is leaking by shutting off the water supply valves one at a time.
